PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and high-performance lightning arrester suitable for a distribution board. SOLUTION: Two varistors of varistors 6, 9, 12 are connected in series between two terminals of terminals 1, 2, 3 wherein each phase line of a three-phase three-wire system distribution line is connected, and a varistor 13 and a gas arrestor element 14 are connected in series, between the common connection center point of the varistor 6 and a ground terminal 15. Thereby, at least two serial connection objects of the varistors 6, 9, 12 operate on a surge between lines, and the serial connection objects of these varistors, the varistor 13 and the gas arrestor element 14 operate on a surge to the ground, protecting equipment from the surges.
