PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and practically useful diversity handover branch control method and the like. SOLUTION: In a mobile communication system including a mobile station, a plurality of base stations each of which communicates with the mobile station via a radio branch and a center which communicates with each of the base stations via a cable branch and controls handover, the mobile station notifies the center of information on one or more addition branch candidates. Based on the notified information, the center simultaneously establishes a plurality of under-communication branches each comprised of a radio branch and a cable branch between the center and the mobile station via a different base station, and performs handover. When establishing the under-communication branch between the center and the mobile station for diversity handover, the center establishes the cable branch before establishing the radio branch.
