PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the supervision work of an operator by detecting reproduction faults by a sending system even without the continuous supervision by the operator and by automatically switching the system, and to make switching for preventing a viewer from feeling inconveniences in broadcast by minimizing delay from the fault detection to the switching of the system. SOLUTION: The sending system comprises: video/sound recording/reproduction equipment for recording and reproducing a video/sound signal duplicated by a current/spare system; an auxiliary data superposition device for superposing auxiliary data for detecting a fault in recording; and a system switching device for detecting the auxiliary data in reproduction and automatically switching the current/spare system, according to the detected result. In the sending system, it is automatically determined whether a sending video sound signal is in a normal reproduction state for switching the system, thus reducing the supervision work and switching the system quickly.
