PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive, a recording medium, and a recording parameter compensating method for preventing weak write and over write in consideration of TPTP property of heads. SOLUTION: This recording parameter compensating method comprises the steps of: measuring bit error rates under an optimum recording parameter condition and a weak write recording parameter condition which induces the weak write to heads of a disk drive; and calculating a recording parameter compensation value which responds to bit error rate difference between the optimum recording parameter condition for controlling recording operation of the disk drive and the weak write recording parameter condition which induces the weak write. This allows a weak write phenomenon in the early stage of the recording operation to be prevented, by providing a compensation value alpha for compensating a recording parameter during start time of the recording operation to the predetermined time period T1.
