PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation device of an optical system, by which a sensitiveness to vibration is reduced. SOLUTION: An optical axis evaluation device A of the optical system 1 is equipped with a display device 8 having a display area and a projected image capture device 3 for always displaying the image which is projected on a reference surface from the optical system 1, at a reference position on the display area. The projected image capture device 3 is equipped with an optical detector 5 for picking up the image projected on the reference surface from the optical system and a capture controller 7 for displaying this picked up image at the reference position on the display area. Further, the capture controller 7 is equipped with a positioning section 70 which receives a low magnification pick-up image and positions the optical system 1 so as relatively adjustable with respect to the optical detector 5 for operating so that a projected image is positioned in a specific area on a 1st detection area, and a projected image swing suppressing section 72 for receiving a high magnification pick-up image and suppressing the swing on the display area of the projected image by displaying the image of the projected image at the reference position of the display area of a display device 8.
