PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To customize a relation between an operator input at an input controller and a corresponding response of a work machine. SOLUTION: A control system 200 includes an input controller 210 operable to receive an operator input and generate a corresponding control signal, and a hand-held device 204 in which parameters adjustable to control responsiveness of component elements of the work machine over a range of the input are stored. The hand-held device 204 operates to adjust the parameters in response to the operator input. A control module 214 is placed on the work machine and operates to receive a signal indicating a requested relation between the operator input through the input controller 210 and the corresponding response of the work machine from the hand-held device 204. The control module 214 also operates to receive a control signal from the input controller 210 and process the control signal based on the signal from the hand-held device 204.
