PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for assembling substrate which combines upper and lower substrates of a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: A first conveyor and a second conveyor which convey the upper and lower substrates onto an upper and lower frames of a vacuum chamber are disposed, the first conveyor is provided with a plurality of first upper suction cups and first lower suction cups, and the second conveyor is provided with a plurality of second upper suction cups and second lower suction cups. The second conveyor sends the lower substrate into the lower frame and, at the same time, the first conveyor sends out a substrate assembly on the lower frame whose assembling is completed previously, wherein the first conveyor does not require other excessive operation and completes conveyance operations of the upper and lower substrates at the same time with the second conveyor. As the result, the effect of simplification on the manufacture flow is reliably achieved, the waste of operation time is reduced and the production capacity is enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
