PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytical method and device for analyzing progress of surface crack capable of taking the difference between crack progress characteristics in the depth direction and on the surface into consideration, in order to progress analysis for the surface crack of a structural member. SOLUTION: In this analytical method and device for analyzing the progress of the surface crack, the crack progress characteristics along the depth direction of the structural member, and the crack progress characteristics on the surface of the structural member are set independently, respectively, taking the difference between the crack progress characteristics into consideration because environmental conditions are different at the cracks, deepest point and the crack surface point, when calculating the crack progress speed.
