PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fatty acid ester with which the amount of the produced fatty acid ester based on the unit weight of an ion exchange resin and on the time is large, i.e. the productivity of the fatty acid ester is large because oils and fats are used at a high concentration and to contribute to a reduction in the environmental load by utilizing the resultant fatty acid ester in a biodiesel fuel. SOLUTION: The method for producing the fatty acid ester according to a transesterification of the oils and fats with alcohols is carried out as follows.
