PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compute speed change and posture change of a flexible medium due to deformation at a nip part of a pair of carrying rollers with a small computation load and in a short time in numerically simulating behavior of the flexible medium. SOLUTION: When the flexible medium is carried by driving the pair of the carrying rollers 72 and 73 formed of elastic material, a finite element model is formed to the pair of the carrying rollers 72 and 73, and deformation of the carrying rollers at the nip part of the pair of the carrying rollers 72 and 73 is determined.
