PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain recording paper fit for an electrophotographic system, an ink jetting system and a heat melting-transferring system, causing no trouble during paper feed and capable of maintaining satisfactory rigidity and bending strength even when the density is reduced to <=0.65g/cm<3> without using a low density bulking material or adopting a means of applying a tough outer layer. SOLUTION: Recording paper using virgin chemical pulp and/or the pulp of waste paper made from chemical pulp as principal stock is subjected to surface sizing treatment chiefly using starch to obtain the objective recording paper having 0.50-0.65g/cm<3> density, 15-22cm rigidity in the transverse direction and 1×10<9> -1×10<12> Ω surface resistivity (JIS K6911) at 20 deg.C and 65% humidity. The ratio of the propagation velocity of the longitudinal wave of an ultrasonic pulse in the recording paper is 1.00-1.40. |
