Regeneration process of a redox catalytic solution comprising the measure of the oxygen dissolved in the regeneration effluent and the use thereof for desulfuration

In the regeneration of an at least partially reduced redox catalyst solution (A) containing polyvalent metal chelating agent(s), by circulating (A) through regeneration zone(s) in presence of oxygen containing gas and recovering the at least partially oxidized effluent (B), the O2 content in (B) is measured and the (A) flow rate and/or O2 content in the gas entering the regeneration zone are adjusted to give an O2 concentration in the water of less than 20% of the saturation value under the regeneration conditions.
