[Also in Division A5] Novel, stable, solid crystalline water-soluble hydrochloric and sulphuric acid salts (includes bisulphate, sulphate and disulphate salts) of sulphamethazine, sulphaethoxypyridazine, sulphamethoxypyridazine, sulphamerazine and sulphathiazole are obtained by a process which comprises forming a mixture of the sulphonamide and HCl or H 2 SO 4 dissolved in a polar solvent, heating the mixture until at least some sulphonamide is dissolved and cooling to effect crystallization. |
