Directional reflector for a liquid crystal display device and indenter adapted to manufacture the same

A reflector is disclosed in a reflective or transflective liquid crystal display device. When light is incident on the reflector in a first direction, the distribution of reflected light is asymmetric with respect to the specular reflection angle of the incident light and non-Gaussian. A maximum value of reflectance occurs at a reflection angle smaller than that of the specular reflection of the incident light. In addition, when light is incident on the reflector from a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, the distribution of reflected lights is also non-Gaussian and is similar to the case in which the light is incident on the reflector from the first direction.
