<p>The unit (10) has an orifice (20) to evacuate electrophoresis treatment coating in which a body shell of a motor vehicle is immersed during preparation of the shell. The unit is filled with foam flakes (18), each comprising a dimension larger than that of the orifice. A filling orifice (22) is cut during stamping of a steel sheet panel before assembling the panel with a steel sheet panel, and is closed by a plug for filling the flakes. An independent claim is also included for a method of filling a hollow sheet metal unit.</p> |
