Materials, such as intestines, skin or bladder, to be deformed in a softened state are preliminanly chemically treated to increase the difference between the flow threshold and the breaking point; the deformation may be carried out in an alternating electric field, and is improved by drying the material under mild conditions immediately after the deformation (before the after-treatment), whereby the tensile strength of the materials increased, and its storage stability is increased.
