<p>A film adhesive for sandwich constructions is composed of a dispersion of (A) a viscoelastic polymer in (B) a carboxylic acid-containing polymer. In particular (A) is a polyurethane or an ethylene/propylene copolymer and (B) is a copolymer of ethylene and 5-25% by wt of an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid in which up to 50% of the acid groups may be neutralised by metals. The adhesive shows high damping characteristics and is esp. used in structures which vibrate. Adherence is good and there is little creep. Water resistance is good.</p> |
