Bobbin with high tensile strength and dimensional stability so that it can be used in winding machines operating at speeds of up to 10 000 RPM is integrally injection moulded from foamed plastics materials filled with reinforcing additives, the bobbin being provided at its lower end with a driving spigot and internally intermediate its length with a centering annulus. Pref. plastics material is polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, acrylonitrile, etc., the reinforcement being of fly ash, glass fibres, asbestos etc. |
