The method for treating cystitis comprises the use of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents. The chromophore is applied to the urine bladder and then the light guide fiber is inserted through the operational canal of cystoscope. The bladder cavity is irradiated with monochromatic low energy laser at the wavelength that corresponds to the absorption spectrum of the chromophore used.
