The proposed alternating-current electric machine contains a stator with the stator winding, a rotor with the multisectional rotor winding, three diodes, a short-circuiting switch for the rotor winding, a thyristor with a control circuit, and an inverter. The first diode and the second diode are connected in series and inserted between the terminals of the rotor winding. The common point of the connection of the diodes is connected to the central terminal of the rotor winding. The third diode is connected in parallel to the first diode and the second diode. The thyristor is connected oppositely in series to the third diode. The inverter contains three transistors and a feedback circuit, which is inserted between the collector of the third transistor and the base of the first transistor. The terminals of the inverter are connected to the terminals of the stator winding.
