The module has a RS232 serial interface with a connector (8a) connecting the module to an Ethernet-serial converter having a same type interface, by a cable. A case (2) has a control wheel (4) operated by a user and cooperating with a processor and a memory e.g. EPROM, to select and store an IP address of the converter, in the memory. A display (3) displays the stored address, and a LED (6) signals the end of the address configuration.
