PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which can more surely prevent overcharging of the toner and accompanying problems, when a color image is formed by superposing toner images, and to provide a method for forming images that uses the toner. SOLUTION: The content R<SB>1</SB>of a charge control material in a toner to form, the first toner image on which images are superposed, is controlled to be smaller than the contents R<SB>2</SB>to R<SB>n</SB>of charge control materials in toners of the respective colors to be superposed thereon, wherein n represents the number of the entire colors of the toners to form an image, R<SB>n</SB>represents the content of the charge control agent in the toner superimposed for the n-th color.
