PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sealed square battery in which workability of welding is improved as the current collecting lead can be welded easily to a reed body while being able to prevent short circuit between a current collecting lead and a lid or a side wall of a battery can. SOLUTION: This includes the cap 3 to close an opening upper face of the bottomed square cylindrical battery can 1, an electrode body 2 housed in the battery can 1, a negative electrode terminal 12 mounted on the cap 3 in the penetrating state, an insulating body 11 arranged on the lower face side of the cap 3, the lead body 17 arranged on the lower face side of the insulating body 11, and a negative electrode current collecting lead 7 led out upward from the electrode body 2. The upper end part of the negative electrode current collecting lead 7 is welded to the lower face of the lead body 17, and folded at a position closer to the front wall of the battery can 1. The insulating body 11 includes a cap side insulating part 22 pinched between the cap 3 and the lead body 17, and the front side wall 25 extending downward from the front end side of front and rear ends of the cap side insulating part 22.
