PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an outside dimension of a recording and reproduction composite device, having three types of recording and reproduction functions of VCR, DVD and HDD units, to be approximately equal to the outside dimension of a conventional recording and reproduction complex-device having two types of recording and reproduction functions of VCR and DVD units. SOLUTION: The device has a housing 3 within which a VCR unit 4 is disposed in the front side of an upper portion at the left, a DVD unit 5 is disposed in the front side of an upper portion at the right, and a HDD unit 6 is disposed in the rear side of a lower portion at the right with a space from a bottom 7 of the housing, in a manner of being sideways with a side being directed to the front, and a front end of the HDD unit 6 is situated ahead of a rear end of the DVD unit 5 and partially facing the rear end separated by a space.
