PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing apparatus in which comparison of easiness of listening of audio data recorded in a plurality of recording area can be performed easily. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises an input part 7 for inputting operation indication; a storage part 9 for storing temporarily audio data; a decoder part for decoding audio data; an output part for outputting audio data decoded by the decoding part; and a control part 6 for controlling a whole reproducing apparatus. When a reproduction request of audio data having recording density of the other side is received in the midst of reproducing audio data having recording density of one side, the control part 6 reading previously data of the prescribed period from a position at which audio data of recording density of one side is reproduced and stores it, stored data is output to the decoder part, while after the prescribed period elapses from receiving the reproduction request, reproduction of audio data of recording density of the other side is started form a position at which the prescribed period elapses from a position corresponding to the position at which audio data of recording density of the other side is being reproduced.
