PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strobe device capable of illuminating an object at sufficiently high illuminance by regulating the expansion angle of outgoing light. SOLUTION: The strobe device 10 is provided with a rod-like light source 11 consisting of a flashing discharge tube and a light splitting means 14 for splitting radiation light from the rod-like light source 11 into a plurality of beams arrayed in the length direction of the light source 11 and emitting these beams to prescribed directions. The light splitting means 14 comprises a plurality of partitioning reflectors 16 for reflecting light of which the expansion angle in the length direction of the reflector 15 is large out of the radiation light from the rod-like light source 11 and light reflected by a reflection surface 15a and allowing the reflected light to emit from the opened part of the reflector 15.
