PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical isolator that has comparatively excellent moisture resistance, light resistance, and heat resistance, hinders the occurrence of a crack in an optical element and, thus, obtains satisfactory optical characteristics. SOLUTION: A compound optical component has two or more quadrangular optical elements, each having an almost circular light transmission area in the middle of its incident face or emission face and joining areas at its four corners, and is formed by integrating the optical elements by joining them in their joining areas.
