PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic clinical thermometer capable of preventing effectively heat from being lost from a thermistor to a lead wire, without disconnecting the lead wire. SOLUTION: In this electronic clinical thermometer 1 having a thermosensitive element 8, the lead wire 9 connected to the thermosensitive element 8, and a probe 4 storing those, and detecting a bodily temperature of a living organism by the thermosensitive element 8, the probe 4 has a probe main body 4a formed with an insertion through passage 3b inserted penetratedly with the lead wire 9, and a sensor cap 7 attached to the probe main body 4a, a cavity 7c is formed in the sensor cap 7, and the lead wire 9 is provided with a portion 9a contacting with an inner wall 7d of the cavity 7c and fixed thereto in the vicinity of the thermosensitive element 8, inside the cavity 7c, and a portion 9b not fixed to the sensor cap 7 or the probe main body 4a in a portion ranging from the thermosensitive element 8 to the insertion through passage 3b.
