PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer instrument for a vehicle having a new luminous display pointer having an excellent outward appearance without enlarging the pointer instrument for the vehicle. SOLUTION: This pointer instrument 1 for the vehicle is equipped with a dial plate 2, the pointer 3 rotated along the surface of the dial plate 2, and irradiation means 6, 7. The pointer is translucent, and the irradiation means 6, 7 emit light from the periphery on the furthermore outside than a domain where the pointer 3 is rotated, and allow the light to enter the pointer 3 from the side 313 of the pointer. The pointer is equipped with a reflecting surface 311a elongated in the longitudinal direction of the pointer 3 in a recessed shape on the back of the pointer 3, for reflecting light from the irradiation means 6, 7 entering from the side 313 of the pointer 3 toward the surface 315 of the pointer 3.
