PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper for a machine tool or an industrial machine, which contributes to drastic reduction of damage at a lip portion caused by collision of chips, and stably carries out scrapping of chips and a coolant over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The wiper is formed of a mounting portion 1 mounted on the machine tool or the industrial machine, and the lip portion 2 integrally formed together with the mounting portion 1 and having elasticity. According to the structure of the wiper, in a mode in which no fiber material 3 is arranged between a scrapping portion 20 of the lip portion 2 and a surface 9 to be scrapped, the fiber material is arranged to cover the lip portion 2 on which scattered chips collide. The fiber material 3 is made of at least one selected from the group consisting of an aromatic polyamide, an aliphatic polyamide, and a polyester. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
