PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a simple and quick diagnosing of a fault of the cable wiring of an ultrasonic probe and a fault of a splicing connector. SOLUTION: In an apparatus to diagnose the ultrasonic probe 600 (600-1 and 600-2) having signal lines 603a and 614a for transmitting signals which are transmitted and received by ultrasonic vibrators 602a and 612a, a voltage generating section 510 applies the testing voltage to the signal lines 603a and 614a and a control section 514 judges the situations of the ultrasonic vibrators 602a and 612a or the signal lines 603a and 614a on the basis of the voltage values at the ultrasonic vibrators 602a and 612a or the signal lines 603a and 614a when the testing voltage is applied.
