PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure good characteristics of a semiconductor laser by sufficiently suppressing the temperature of the semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: This optical pickup is provided with attachments 16 and 16 made of metal materials, attached to a moving base 7 in the penetrating state of a thickness direction, and having fixed parts 21 and 21 and contact parts 18 and 18, an adjustment plate 24 made of a metal material to hold a semiconductor laser 25, fixed to the fixing parts of the attachments and arranged on one surface side in the thickness direction of the moving base, a base cover 27 made of a metal material to cover at least a part of the other surface in the thickness direction of the moving base, and heat conductive sheets 33 and 33 having one surface brought into contact with the contact parts of the attachment and the other surface brought into contact with the base cover. A contact area of the attachment to the base cover through the heat conductive sheet is set larger than that to the moving base, and heat transmitted to the base cover is discharged by an air flow generated accompanying the rotation of a disk recording medium 100 and blown to the base cover.
