PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and imaging system whose cost are reduced and performance is high, and by which a video image of a wide dynamic range can be obtained. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 2 and an image processor 6 are connected via a network 4. The imaging apparatus 2 comprises an imaging device 23 which alternately repeats high-light exposure processing for a first charge accumulation time and low-light exposure processing for a second charge accumulation time for each frame and outputs accumulated charges as electrical signals, respectively; and a camera signal processing unit 24 which generates high-light image data, by capturing the electrical signal resulting from the high-light exposure processing, generates low-light image data by capturing the electric signal resulting form the low-light exposure processing and alternately sends these image data to the network 4, and the image processor 6 comprises an image compositing unit 65 for compositing the high-light image data and the low-light image data received via the network.
