PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber molded product by which the fiber molded product by molding, etc., can be homogenized to prevent production of the fiber molded product with low mechanical strength resulting in a high product yield and a mixture scarcely sticks to a metal mold, etc., with excellent operation efficiency due to good mold release properties, excellent flexibility due to moldability into various kinds of shapes and further excellent productivity due to a drying time that can be shortened when the mixture is molded, etc., because a fibrous material can uniformly be mixed with a gel-like material of glucomannan by mixing water in an amount necessary and sufficient for gelation of the glucomannan, producing the gel-like material and mixing the gel-like material with the fibrous material. SOLUTION: The method for producing the fiber molded product comprises the following steps; a gel-like material producing step of mixing the glucomannan with a basic curing agent and water and providing the gel-like material; a mixing step of mixing the gel-like material with the fibrous material and providing the mixture; a molding step of molding the resultant mixture into a prescribed shape and affording the molded product; and a drying step of drying the molded product.
