PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boarding bridge capable of speedily making a passenger on a second floor seat board on and off an aircraft furnished with a second floor hatch. SOLUTION: This boarding bridge 12 is furnished with a tunnel part 5, a cab 6, an automatic leveler 40, a drive column 8 to support and vertically move the tunnel part 5, a driving wheel 9 mounted on a lower end part of the drive column 8 and an outrigger 30 mounted on the lower end part of the drive column 8. The outrigger 30 does not work when the cab 6 is connected to a first floor hatch 21 of the aircraft 20 but works when the cab 6 is connected to the second floor companion way 22. The outrigger 30 simultaneously works when driving of the automatic leveler 40 is started and assists support the tunnel part 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
