PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side body structure for a vehicle capable of transmitting a side impact load to a roll bar, and suppressing deformation or intrusion of a side panel inward of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In the side body structure for the vehicle in a vicinity of a part at which a roll bar having a shape extending upward of the vehicle in an on-vehicle state is assembled to a side panel consisting of an outer panel to constitute an outer surface of the vehicle body and an inner panel to constitute a wall surface of a cabin via a connection member extending in the vehicle width direction, an extension part extending outward substantially in the vehicle width direction is formed on the outer panel, and a flange extending along the inner panel is provided on an outward end in the vehicle width direction of the connection member so as to mount the connection member on the inner panel. A projecting part which is projected outward in the vehicle width direction penetrating through the inner panel and extends to the vicinity of the extension part of the outer panel is provided on the flange.
