PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base cloth for an air belt, an air belt made of the base cloth, and a manufacturing method for them, which allow the employment of a thinner base cloth composing an air belt to provide the air belt offering a feeling of unity that is highly convenient in storage, lighter in weight to relieving an occupant from a feeling of stress and fatigue, and suppresses a shift between base cloths due to abrasion. SOLUTION: The base cloth for the air belt is made by coating at least one surface of a fabric, which is made up of filaments whose each single element has a flat section, with a resin. The base cloth is provided by using the manufacturing method for the fabric for the air belt at least including such a weaving process and a finishing process that a weaving tension is determined to be within 30 to 200 g/fabric in the weaving process and a knife coating is employed in the finishing process.
