The surface feel of wiping products, such as facial tissues, bath tissues and paper towels, can be improved by incorporating into the product a deliquescent material and a friction reduction compound. The deliquescent material maintains a very high equilibrium amount of water in the product, which in turn effectively enables the friction reduction compound to enhance the smooth surface feel of the product.
