<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the adjustment time, in adjusting the focus biases and spherical aberration compensation values. <P>SOLUTION: A focus bias value and a spherical aberration compensation value are obtained, when a wobble signal amplitude value becomes maximum, based on the result of wobble signal amplitude value detected varying both focus bias and spherical aberration correction values. At least the focus bias value obtained by this, optimum focus bias value can be set up, by setting up a value resulting from subtracting a required difference value. The adjustment time can be shortened, because it is not necessary to obtain RF signal and trial write operation can be dispensed with, in contrast to the conventional adjustments. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
