<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC rotary machine maintenance method which provides minimum necessary, reasonable maintenance. <P>SOLUTION: The condition of discharge occurring in the AC rotary machine is monitored on the basis of a partial discharge voltage for each phase occurring in a coil of the AC rotary machine during the rotation thereof. On the basis of the monitoring results, discharge regarded as abnormal is detected. The position of the detected discharge regarded as abnormal is located by detecting ultraviolet rays or a sound accompanied by the partial discharge during the rotation of the AC rotary machine to ascertain a position which needs repairing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
