SUBSTRATE FOR BONE CELL CULTURE AND METHOD FOR BONE CELL CULTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive culture substrate effective for promoting osteogenesis and provide an assay system useful for the determination of various drug actions and the research of cell function by using cultured bone cell.

SOLUTION: The substrate for bone cell culture has an apatite particle layer and a collagen layer laminated on a substrate surface. The invention further provides a method for producing the substrate and a method for bone cell culture using the substrate for bone cell culture. The method for assaying the osteogenetic function of a bone marrow cell comprises the culture of bone marrow cells using the substrate for bone cell culture in the presence of calcein and the determination of the amount of produced calcified tubercles by measuring fluorescent intensity.
