PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing device and an image reproducing method for taking a transferred image easily from an exterior device by connecting with the exterior device and reproducing the image in an album, while the image transferred to the exterior device can be easily specified in correlation with the album. SOLUTION: The image reproducing device includes an image file registering means for registering the address of an image file to an album file; a transmission means for transmitting the album file and the registered image file and copying them in the exterior device, which is subjected to signal connection with the image reproducing device; a thumbnail generating means for generating a thumbnail image file with reduced capacity of the image file; and a thumbnail file registering means for deleting the registered image file and registering the address of the thumbnail image file in the album file.
