PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail transfer device capable of transferring e-mail at a high speed. SOLUTION: The mail transfer device for transferring e-mail to a gateway server comprises a plurality of communication units for communicating with the gateway server and transmitting e-mail to the gateway server, and a control unit for monitoring connection or disconnection of the plurality of communication units and the gateway server and distributing the e-mail preferentially to communication units connected with the gateway server among the plurality of communication units. With such an arrangement, e-mail can be transferred without losing the connection time.
