PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure durability and reliability of a heater of an endless belt, heating system/pressurized rotating body drive system, by preventing the endless belt from braking from its end part due to the frictional force in the direction of a rotary shaft, when using the endless belt. SOLUTION: The part of an elastic layer only is arranged at an end part of the endless belt having a metal base layer and the elastic layer by making the elastic layer longer than the metal layer. The elastic layer of the endless belt comes into contact with an end flange (endless belt retaining member), so that the endless belt is in a light contact with an end flange, due to the elasticity of the elastic layer. Consequently, the end flange is prevented from wearing out by sliding on the endless belt and the length-direction end of the endless belt is prevented form breaking. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
