PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply system capable of operating each function of a hot water supply apparatus without needing the operation of an operation switch usually and performing no combustion operation when a faucet is opened as antifreezing measures in a cold district or the like. SOLUTION: The hot water supply apparatus 1 has a first set state and a second set state. In the first set state, when a stream of predetermined flow or more is detected by a stream detecting means even in an operation OFF mode, the operation mode is automatically shifted to an operation ON mode. Afterwards, unless switching operation to the operation OFF mode is performed by an operating device 2, the operation ON mode is maintained even if the stream has less than the predetermined flow. In the second set state, unless switching operation to the operation ON mode is performed by an operation mode switching means, the operation mode is maintained to the operation OFF mode even if the stream of the predetermined flow or more is generated.
