PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent coolant and chips scattering inside a splash cover due to machining in a machining area from leaking to the outside through a gap between the splash cover and a sliding door without a sealing member in simple constitution. SOLUTION: In this machine tool, a carry-in and -out port 22 opened extending from the front 20 of the splash cover 2 covering the periphery of the machining area to the top face 21 is covered with the sliding door having a front plate 30 and an upper plate 31 to be freely opened and closed. The sliding position of the sliding door 3 in opening the carry-in and -out port 22 is set so that the front plate 30 and the upper plate 31 are respectively stored inside the front 20 and the top face 21 of the splash cover 2.
