PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand separation/washing device for separating a sand component by efficiently washing a foreign matter contained in sunk sand raised from a sand sedimentation pond. SOLUTION: This sand separation/washing device is provided with an upper solid/liquid separation tank 1 introduced with contaminated sand mixing water; and a lower solid/liquid separation tank 2 installed beneath the upper solid/liquid separation tank 1. The upper solid/liquid separation tank 1 is provided with a cylindrical upper tank body 3 for generating a rotation flow descending along a peripheral wall by making the contaminated sand mixing water flow-in in a tangent direction; a reverse head-cut conical separation hopper 4 installed on an upper part of the upper tank body 3, making the reversed rotation flow flow-in and making it flow out to the outside of the upper tank body 3; an opening part 5 formed on a bottom part of the upper tank body 3 and communicated with the lower solid/liquid separation tank 2; and a feeding screw 6 arranged on the opening part 5 and feeding the contaminated sand settled in the upper tank body 3 to the lower solid/liquid separation tank 2.
