<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram recording material and a hologram recording method for achieving all of high sensitivity, high diffraction efficiency, preferable storage property, low shrinkage, dry processing property and multiple recording characteristics (high recording density) and applicable to a high-density optical recording medium, three-dimensional display, holographic optical element or the like, and in particular, to provide a sensitizing dye usable with high sensitivity and allowing much hologram recording light to transmit even in a hologram recording material having ≥100 μm film thickness or ≥500 μm, in order to obtain high recording density by performing a large quantity of multiple recording in a high-density optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The hologram recording material contains a sensitizing dye which absorbs light at the hologram recording wavelength to generate an excited state, and an interference fringe recording component which can record interference fringes as refractive index modulation by the transition of energy or electrons from the excited state of the sensitizing dye, wherein the molar extinction coefficient of the sensitizing dye at the hologram recording wavelength ranges from 1 to 10,000. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
