<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling-element cage for a roller bearing and an assembling method by which the end of a pin can be secured to an annular side-plate without clinching the end of the pin in securing the end of the pin press-fitted in a pin-holding hole of the annular side-plate. <P>SOLUTION: When the end of the pin 3 is press-fitted in the pin-holding hole 4a formed in the annular side-plate 4, the end face of the pin 3 is subjected to turning work to form thin cylindrical parts 6 on both ends of the pin.
