PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve handleability and quick photographing performance by rapidly performing focusing operation in changing the posture of a camera. SOLUTION: The autofocus camera has a focusing operation means for performing operation related to autofocus, a posture detection means for detecting the posture of the camera, and a detection means for detecting that the posture of the camera is changed from output from the posture detection means. The focusing operation means is actuated in response to detecting that the posture of the camera is changed.
